FSHN GSA Role
International Student Representative
Co-Chair of Graduate Recruitment
Who are you and what’s your research about?
Papri is a second-year PhD student in the FSHN department with a Bachelor’s of Dental Surgery from Dhaka Dental College, University of Dhaka, Bangladesh. Her research focuses on the interactions of gut microbiota to develop designer probiotic therapies for Non-Alcoholic Fatty Liver Disease (NAFLD). Her research has significant implications for food science, including the development of functional foods, innovative food products, and advancements in scientific understanding of the gut-liver axis.
Why is the FSHN GSA important to you?
The FSHN Graduate Student Association is precious because it creates a supportive community. It is not just a community; it’s a welcoming hub that embraces new students and ensures everyone feels at home. It offers opportunities for professional growth and allows us to collectively voice and address concerns within our department. I think it adds a sense of unity, helps us develop valuable skills, and contributes to making our academic experience even better. I think FSHN GSA works like a support system for the students.
